ISLAM
The religion of Islam is based on belief in the One God (In Arabic is called Allah ﷻ) a natural faith, a religion of responsibility, purpose, balance, discipline, and simplicity according to the Qur’an and the hadith Saying of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ (Peace Be Upon Him) [PBUH] or (by extension) a description of him by one of his Companions).
To be a Muslim is to live your life remembering Allah ﷻ and striving to follow His merciful guidance.
Say, ‘He is God the One, God the eternal. He begot no one nor was He begotten. No one is comparable to Him." [Quran 112:1-4]
God's final messenger, Prophet Muhammad ﷺ (PBUH) (570-632 CE) born in Mecca was sent to proclaim the same revelation that had been proclaimed by earlier Jewish and Christian prophets, first to the Arabs and then to all people.
So [you believers], say, ‘We believe in God and in what was sent down to us and what was sent down to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, and the Tribes, and what was given to Moses, Jesus, and all the prophets by their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and we devote ourselves to Him.’ [Quran 2:136]
We have sent other messengers before you- some We have mentioned to you and some We have not- and no messenger could bring about a sign except with God’s permission. When [the Day] God ordained comes, just judgement will be passed between them: there and then, those who followed falsehood will be lost. [Quran 40:78]
The Holy Qur’an the Sacred Book of Islam means "the recitation", revealed by God verbally through the angel Gabriel (Jibril) to Prophet Muhammad ﷺ (PBUH), gradually over a period of approximately 23 years, beginning in 609 CE when Prophet Muhammad ﷺ (PBUH) was 40, and concluding in 632, the year of his death.
Prophet Muhammad ﷺ (PBUH) called people towards the belief in one God and encouraged them to be just and merciful to one another. He was a living example of God’s guidance for the benefit of the entire humankind.
You who believe, obey God and the Messenger, and those in authority among you. If you are in dispute over any matter, refer it to God and the Messenger, if you truly believe in God and the Last Day: that is better and fairer in the end. [Quran 4:59]
At several places in the Quran, believing men and believing women are addressed in the same language confirming that both men and women are equal in the sight of God.
For men and women who are devoted to God- believing men and women, obedient men and women, truthful men and women, steadfast men and women, humble men and women, charitable men and women, fasting men and women, chaste men and women, men and women who remember God often- God has prepared forgiveness and a rich reward. [Quran 33:35]
To whoever, male or female, does good deeds and has faith, We shall give a good life and reward them according to the best of their actions. [Quran 16:97]
